Brassaï, “the living eye” of photography according to Henry Miller’s definition, has established himself as one of the most influential authors in the history of this art. Participant in the surrealist movement and friend of personalities such as Picasso, Matisse and Dalí, he is the author of shots that have become iconic: from the working-class neighborhoods to the great symbolic monuments, from fashion to the portraits of his artist friends, up to graffiti and the fervent nightlife, Brassaï knew how immortalize with his lens the secret soul of the Paris of the années folles. Curated by Philippe Ribeyrolles, the exhibition presents over 200 vintage prints, objects and documents that belonged to the Master, offering an unprecedented look at the fascinating universe of a visionary of photography.
